FAQs

How to care for a wooden or cotton wick?

Trim your wooden/cotton before each burn. The shorter wick height allows the wax to glide up the wick and feed the flame properly. Not trimming off black & burnt tips prior to lighting will cause smoke and residue issues on wooden wicks/ mushrooming on cotton wicks.

How do I trim it?

A simple wick trimmer. If you don't have one, you can trim off the burnt part of the wick with a nail clipper, pliers, kitchen shears, or scissors once the candle is fully cooled! (Do so carefully as the wax will be softer after burning.)

How long can I burn my Candle?

Like any other candle, make sure your initial burn creates a full melt pool to reach the edges to prevent tunneling. Max burn time should not be more than 4 hours each time. If you notice the flame growing too large, the wick may have grown too long.. so simply put it out safely, and trim the wick down and you're good to relight.

Any other wooden wick tips?

Sometimes a wood wick will take a couple seconds to light. Our wicks are made out of FSC Certified wood, so this is a natural lighting process to take a few seconds to light. If for some reason you're having difficulty, melt a little of the wax around the wick base with a lighter to expose the wick and it will light. (Light wick at corner of wood to instantly light it).
